The Site
Red Squirrel Campsite Glenmidge is sheltered and
level being located in a small hamlet in the Nith Valley
approximately 8 miles from Dumfries. A small quiet and secluded site
situated in stunning countryside surrounded by woodlands and hills.
The site accommodates tents caravans and motorhomes and has all the
basic facilities you will need for your stay. Cycle riding and
walking are activities often undertaken by people staying at the
site. There are some very pleasant walks from the site (maps
available from the site) and plenty to see and do in the area.

Red Squirrel Campsite Glenmidge has the benefit of all the usual
facilities including toilet, shower chemical waste disposal point,
electric hook-ups and pot washing facilities and a few more that
campers will be appreciative of such as use of a microwave and a
covered area where campers can use to eat there meals. There is also
a track into the woods that makes a good dog walk from the site.
Pitches
Pitches are unmarked level and on grass accommodating all types of
touring unit. The ground is hard so bring some good pegs for your

Facilities Nearby And Places Of
Interest
Plenty of sightseeing and places of interest along with good walks
and cycling opportunities. Glenmidge Campsite is a good location
from which to explore this south west corner of Scotland with its
many historic and cultural attractions not to mention the many
activity based opportunities available. Walking, cycling and fishing
are also very popular in the surrounding area. Places of interest in
the area include Drumlanrig Castle just one of the many historic
buildings in the area.
For those looking for a local Inn, approximately 2 miles away you
will find The Auldgirth Inn which provides for a pleasant evening
out and serves good food and drink with friendly service. A well
stocked local shop is just a short drive away. For the major
shopping Dumfries around 8 miles away can provide for most needs
with plenty of shops and a major supermarket.

Directions To Site
Situated approximately two miles off the A76. From the South leave
the M6 at junction 22, then merge onto the A75. Stay on A75 for
approximately 26 miles, at Lochside Road Roundabout take the 2nd
exit onto the A76 after approximately 7 miles turn left, site is
about 2 miles from this turn off
